Illuminate is a business-themed conference that’s held annually in the Summer. It is an exciting and educational experience, but let’s go into more depth on why you should come and what you can expect to get out of it!
You’ll meet a wide array of highly successful individuals.
The Keynotes, workshops, and case competitions all have one thing in common: they are run by people who have gone far in life. You’ll be given the chance to meet and interact with well-respected people in big companies, the main one being Deloitte. Very few teenagers are given this opportunity, so you can use this to your advantage to build your network and learn more about what their lives are like!
You’ll meet new kids around your age.
If you don’t enter with a full team, that’s okay! You’ll be placed with like-minded individuals with the same interests as you. This is a great way to meet new friends who will support you on your way to achieving your goals; whether it’s short term like winning a case competition, or long term with landing your dream job! The connections you can make in Illuminate will be strong and can last a lifetime.
You’ll get a taste of what real case studies are like.
A big part of many business schools are case competitions. A person/company has a problem they want to resolve, or a goal they want to achieve. It’s your job as a team to work together and create a presentation addressing the topic. At Illuminate, these case competitions are under a very short time crunch and winning results in a $1000 prize. You’ll learn your strengths and weaknesses with cases, so you know what to improve on in the future if you do decide to pursue business.
You’ll learn more about what the world of business has to offer.
The 3 pillars that Illuminate focuses on changes each year. So, whether it’s your first time, or you’ve been coming for years, you’ll be exposed to new areas of business. Many people don’t realize how diverse business really is, so being exposed to different areas can help you find what your passion is.

If your team wins the case competition, you’ll be rewarded with $1000 to spend on whatever your heart desires. Winning this is not going to be easy, as there are hundreds of other kids who want that money just as badly as you do, so you’d better give it your all!
