Hi everyone! My name is Anoosha Trehan and I am currently a grade 11 student attending Richmond Hill High School. Today I had the pleasure of attending the National High School Business Conference, so I thought I'd come on here to share some of my thoughts!

Mark Grenon taught me so much about the field of forensic accounting and finding a job that truly is your passion. It was interesting to learn that accountants don't just sit at a desk all day and can actually go into a variety of fields. Jodi Buckley, who is a recruiter at CPA Ontario took me through the path to becoming a CPA. She showed me that your grades and work experience are not the only things that matter, it's all about how you present yourself. If you can't communicate, stay organized and have other interpersonal skills, then it will affect your future jobs.
The illuminate team delivered a wonderful presentation on mental fitness. They taught me about saboteurs and how to prevent them from controlling your mind and decisions. It was fascinating to see how everyone uses different parts of their brain when put in certain situations.
I thoroughly enjoyed NHBC and, after a long year of school clubs and competitions not being normal, it was nice to be back out there - on zoom of course - thinking on my feet and, connecting with like - minded youth!
