My takeaway from this event.

Hi everyone! My name is Mabishan and I'm a grade 11 student at Woburn Collegiate Institute. Yesterday, I had the pleasure to attend the National Highschool Business Conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned throughout the day.

First, we looked into forensic accounting. He was very open-minded, he talked about some of his most difficult cases he has worked on and he also talked about his personal experience with this job such as the risks he faces to be in this career.

Then, there were the university students who came in and provided us with valuable information for students going into university and it was a real pleasure that they answered almost all of our questions without any hesitation. Myself in grade 11 planning to go into university, this can be very helpful for me to make wise decisions before going into university.

Then we had the CPA challenge, we were provided with a wonderful and an exciting case. My teammates and I worked hard in the 90mins period to analyze and solve this case. We delivered our best to the judges which was one of the best lifetime opportunities to experience this and a wonderful learning opportunity.

In conclusion, I had a wonderful time learning so many things in a short period of time. I was able to find many of my interests and I can easily say that this event has differently been a part of my goals. I’d like to thank the whole team for this amazing event.
