My First Experience with NHBC

Hi everyone! My name is Sonia Ramlogan and I'm a grade 10 student at St. Marcellinus. Today, I had the pleasure to attend the National High School Business Conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned about. I learned that there are many different aspects of business. I've been given the opportunity to go down many different avenues of business in the future. During this conference I learned more about what interests me more in the business world. I also learned that it is very important to be mentally prepared for the challenges you face in business. This conference not only emphasized how important it is to have the right mindset, but also thoroughly explained how to get that right mindset and overall become successful. From the keynote speaker, I learned that there is much more to accounting than numbers and learn the many parts of accounting that I did not know of! The most enjoyable part of this NHBC was the case study because I got to showcase and put my skills to the test. I enjoyed applying the things I learned today into the case which will prepare me for future real life scenarios. The case study given was something I wasn't familiar with so it broadened my knowledge and taught me new skills! I will definitely apply the skills and knowledge I learned here today not only in business, but in my everyday life! This was an amazing experience for me to get to learn new things, network and grow as a student and person!
