My CARIC-COM Study Case Business Conference Experience!

Hi everyone, my name is Jayde Barnes-Rochester and I am a Grade 10 student currently attending Dumbarton Highschool.

My experience with the Business Study Case Conference was both very inspiring and very eye opening! I loved all the amazing workshops as well as the guest speakers and the amazing study case that was provided to make the whole experience that much more fun and amazing! I was very happy to have received another invite to return back to Illuminate after I had competed in the STEM event, and I was very surprise to have had an even better experience attending this conference then I did attending STEM; Illuminate will always continue to amazing me with such inspiring and fortunate opportunities that I would never be able to get anywhere else! Thank you so much!

Something that I exceptionally loved about the Illuminate Business Conference was at the beginning of the conference when we were introduced to the three core muscles located in our brains that helps us function on an emotional level in business: The Saboteurs International Muscle, The Sage Muscle, and The Self-Command Muscle, as shown down below.

This source of information was very useful in order for me to truly understand my brain a lot better and how to appropriately use it in certain situations requiring work.

Another thing that I truly loved about this event was the Business chemistry with Deloitte zoom meeting where we got to talk about different personality types when it comes to working, and what we can expect/incorporate when we are working with other colleges or partners on business oriented things, or anything for that matter! The different character types were, Pioneer, Driver, Integrator and Generator. With that event, I personally resonated more with a Driver, who is focused, goal set, competitive and challenging. But in the past, I would have also considered myself to be a Pioneer, who is creative, outgoing and an out of the box thinkers. And I still carry some of those traits with me today!

Overall, this was yet again another amazing experience shared with Illuminate that I didn't know I was going to be so interested and inspired in. But, I'm extremely glad that I attended it and had such a great time being apart of this event!
