Illuminate x Durham

Hi everyone! My name is Sana Ahmed and I am a Grade 10 student at Agincourt Collegiate Institute. Today, I had the pleasure to attend Illuminate x Durham’s regional conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned in this conference presented by Alina. I learned that when you are overwhelmed and/or stressed, it’s okay to take a step back and calm yourself, to prioritize your mental health first and take the breaks you need so that you can be in the right mind again. I learned that every single one of us is capable of becoming something great in the future. I really enjoyed the group activity we did at the end of the conference, where we all had to come up with a business out of a few pictures. This was really fun because we were able to talk to others and possibly make some friends which is something we don’t do often in these rough times. I really enjoyed listening to all the other group's ideas as well, hearing all their creative ideas made me realize how different each individual is and how smart we all are.
