Durham X Illuminate

Hi everyone! My name is Sarmica Mohanarajah and I am a Grade 10 student at Agincourt Collegiate Institute. Today, I had the pleasure to attend Illuminate x Durham’s regional conference. Here are my thoughts highlighting what I learned about.

After learning about Alina Huang's journey to success, I came to a conclusion that it is very important to make sure you try your best and succeed and to never doubt yourself in reaching your goals. I learned a quote that went along the lines of "It doesn't matter if you fall, it's about how fast you can get back up on your feet and keep going." I thought this quote was very inspiring and a great way to look on life. From today's session, I really enjoyed hearing everyone's ideas and their perspectives on how they interpret images in different ways, it was very interesting and fun. There's always something I learn that I could use in my future career and personal development in many different ways. Something I really liked to hear that there are female entrepreneurs and it really caught my attention because it is more difficult for females to be in this position in today's world. It is also important to make sure that one's mental health is at a good place in order to move forward and accomplish future goals.
