NHLC Conference

Hi Everyone! My name is Dhruv and I am a Grade 12 Student at Chinguacousy SS. Today, I had the pleasure to attend the Illuminate National High School Leadership Conference with over 170 students globally. Here is my blog which strives to highlight what I learned about in management, executive thinking, collaboration, consulting, finance and entrepreneurship.

During the morning activity some of my main takeaways about important traits for a leader was learning about resilience, ability to adjust, and flexibility. From the first workshop, I was able to learn a lot from Alan Booth, about the key traits of a successful leader, and the mental strengths required. From the second workshop, I learned a lot about CPA Ontario and the various opportunities available to everyone. One of the key takeaways from the Deloitte keynote was learning about the process of adjusting to new work roles and environments. I consider myself an entrepreneur as I am someone who is always looking to expand and learn new things. If I were to create a business in the future with only 5$ I would make a lemonade stand.

I am really looking forward to seeing different innovations take place next year after attending NHLC. One piece of advice I’d share is, stressing the importance of being curious and stepping out of your boundaries.
